Welcome to "My Gift Lists" ("the App"). We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our app.
Personal Information: When you sign in with Google, Apple, or an email magic link, we collect your name, email address, and (where available) profile picture to create your account and personalize your experience.
Your Gift Data: We store the people you add, the lists and occasions you create, and the gift ideas you save — including titles, prices, product links, notes, purchase status, budgets, and any photos you upload for people, lists, or occasions.
Usage Data: We may collect anonymous usage statistics to improve the app experience, such as feature usage and performance metrics.
Your data is stored securely in our database (Google Firebase) to enable cross-device synchronization — so you can access your lists from any device. We implement appropriate security measures including encryption in transit and access controls to protect your information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.
The App lets you link accounts into a "household" so you can plan and shop for gifts together. If you join a household, the people, lists, occasions, and gifts you mark as shared become visible to other members of that household. You control what stays private using the App's per-list and per-person privacy settings, and the App can automatically hide gifts intended as a surprise for a household member who is linked to a recipient. You are responsible for who you invite into your household.
When you paste a product link, the App reads that page's public product details (title, price, image) to fill in the gift for you — this happens on your device.
When you use AI gift search (including voice search), the text of your search is sent — through our secure server — to OpenAI to interpret your request into a structured product search. Product results are returned from Shopify's public catalog. When you search the web for a photo, your query is sent through our server to Google's image search. We do not send your email, your name, your contacts, your location, or persistent identifiers to these providers. This text is processed only to provide the feature and is not used to train OpenAI's models, per OpenAI's API terms. Please do not enter sensitive information you would not want processed this way.
When you choose to buy a gift, the App opens the merchant's own checkout page in an in-app browser. Your purchase, payment, and shipping details are handled directly by the merchant and their payment providers — we do not receive or store your payment card details or shipping address.
Paid subscriptions (My Gift Lists Plus) are processed by Apple and managed through RevenueCat. We never receive or store your payment card details — we only receive your subscription status so we can unlock paid features.
If you use the referral program, we store a referral code linked to your account and a record of referrals you make or redeem, so we can grant the associated rewards.
We use Mixpanel to collect anonymous, aggregated product analytics — such as which features are used — to help us improve the app, and Sentry to capture crash and error diagnostics. This data is not used to identify you personally.
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information. Outside of the household sharing you choose to enable, your data remains private to your account. We only share data with the service providers listed above to operate the App, or when required by law or to protect our rights.
